Description: Funds for an organization to support the COPS Office with coordinating the Blue Alert System to support the National Blue Alert Network.

Criteria: Is your agency a Public Government Agency, For Profit (Commercial) Organization, Non-Profit Organization, Institution of Higher Education, Community Group, or a Faith-Based Organization?

Description: Funding to increase the capacity of existing accreditation bodies to provide services to agencies including small, rural, and tribal law enforcement and to provide accreditation services in states that currently do not have them.

Sub Category Solicitations:

  • Addressing Gaps in State Accreditation

    Description: funding to support the establishment of accreditation entities in states that do not have an accreditation body.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

Description: Funds are used to develop the capacity of law enforcement to implement community policing strategies by providing guidance on promising practices through the development and testing of innovative strategies; building knowledge about effective practices and outcomes; and supporting new, creative approaches to preventing crime and promoting safe communities.

  • Tolerance, Diversity, and Anti-Bias Online Training

    Description: Funds to develop and pilot an online tolerance, diversity, and anti-bias training and deliver in classroom.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Unit of Local Government (e.g., county, city, school district), Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

  • Emerging Issues

    Description: Funds to develop the capacity of law enforcement to implement community policing strategies by providing guidance on promising practices through the development and testing of innovative strategies; building knowledge about effective practices and outcomes; and supporting new, creative approaches to preventing crime and promoting safe communities.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Unit of Local Government (e.g., county, city, school district), Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

  • Innovations in Recruitment, Retention, and Workforce Diversification

    Description: Will provide funding to an organization to help law enforcement agencies, in particular those funded through the COPS Hiring Program (CHP), implement improvements to increase their capacity to attract and select the best candidates, including developing creative and engaging opportunities to market policing positions and expand the pool of potential applicants.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Unit of Local Government (e.g., county, city, school district), Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

Description: Funds to support comprehensive de-escalation approach.

Sub Category Solicitation:

  • Continuation and Expansion of Regional De-Escalation Training Centers:

    Description: Funds for continuation and expansion of regional centers for the delivery of de-escalation training.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

Description: Provide training, programming, and support services in law enforcement emotional and mental health, including such things as suicide prevention, peer mentoring, clinical support, and family support services.

Sub Category Solicitation:
  • LEMHWA National Level Resources, Training, and Technical Assistance

    Description: Funds to develop resources such as toolkits and publications; offer training; and provide assistance to state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies across the country to implement successful mental health and wellness initiatives for officers and their families.

    Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

Description: Funds to support a provider who can provide nationwide training to at least 20,000 first responders over the course of the award through scenario-based, multidisciplinary training classes.

Criteria: Is your agency one of the following: Institution of Higher Education, Non-Profit Organization, Faith Based Organization, Community Group, Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Tribe and their Public Agencies, or For Profit (Commercial) Organization?

Description: Funds to improve security at schools and on school grounds in the award recipient’s jurisdiction through evidence-based school safety programs and technology.

Criteria:  Is your agency one of the following: State, Local, or Tribal Law Enforcement Agency, Unit of Local Government (e.g., county, city, school district), Federally Recognize Tribe and their Public Agencies, or a Public Government Agency?

Description: Funds are used to support tribal law enforcement agencies through training and technical assistance efforts around community policing topics.

Criteria: Is your agency a Public Government Agency, Federally Recognized Indian Tribe and their Public Agencies, For Profit (Commercial) Organization, Non-Profit Organization, Institution of Higher Education, Community Group, or a Faith-Based Organization?
