Department of Justice Announces National Coffee with a Cop Day

WASHINGTON, DC - As part of National Community Policing Week, the Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) has partnered with the Hawthorne (California) Police Department to announce Friday, October 7, 2016 as National Coffee with a Cop Day.

Coffee with a Cop, a program started by the Hawthorne Police Department in 2011, promotes positive community and law enforcement engagement through the experience of coffee and conversation. As of today, over 500 law enforcement agencies have agreed to participate by hosting an event on National Coffee with a Cop Day.
