Upcoming Resource for Interacting with Homeless Populations

The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) and the Salt Lake City Police Department will be releasing a toolkit for law enforcement agencies that are interested in developing or improving their outreach with homeless populations in the coming months. The Salt Lake City (Utah) Police Department Homeless Outreach Services Team Toolkit will provide an overview of the Homeless Outreach Services Team (HOST) as well as providing program information and materials to help create a better model for interacting with homeless populations. Additionally, the University of Utah Criminal Justice Center conducted an evaluation of the program, and the data and findings will be included with the toolkit.

If you are interested in receiving more information about HOST or the toolkit and evaluation, please e-mail the COPS Office program manager.
