The Community Policing Dispatch is the award-winning e-newsletter of the COPS Office

The Community Policing Dispatch is the award-winning e-newsletter of the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office). Produced monthly since 2007, the Dispatch has been advancing the COPS Office’s mission by educating its readers about issues pertaining to the implementation and practice of community policing. The Dispatch publishes a wide range of articles, but its primary aims are to showcase best practices in implementing community policing and to give readers the opportunity to learn from their peers.

The Dispatch has twice been honored by the National Association of Government Communicators with Gold Screen awards for outstanding e-Newsletter (2009) and outstanding Web Article (2010).

The opinions contained in the articles are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official position or policies of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ). References to specific individuals, agencies, companies, products, or services do not constitute an endorsement by the authors or DOJ. Rather, the references are illustrations to supplement discussion of the issues.

Published articles are for general informational purposes only and represent the exclusive views of the authors. While DOJ strives to ensure that the articles are as accurate as possible, it expressly disclaims liability for any alleged errors or omissions.

Authors are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions, releases, and consents for graphics and photographs included with their article submissions. DOJ is not liable for any claims for infringement of any copyright, invasion of any privacy right, or violation any other right of any person or entity with respect to the published graphics or photographs.
