In 2022, older adults reported losing more than $1.6B to fraud. This month, Deputy Tara Hardin of the Oklahoma County (Oklahoma) Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) joins The Beat, the COPS Office podcast series, to discuss the strides she has made in preventing and reducing senior victimization.
Deputy Hardin is the coordinator of the OCSO’s TRIAD program, a national effort with a threefold approach to preventing and reducing crimes against seniors. Established in 1997, the OCSO’s TRIAD program hosts numerous activities—ranging from educational seminars to social events—each year to help local senior citizens access the resources they need.
Learn more about the OCSO’s efforts to combat elder abuse in this month’s episode of The Beat.
