Webcast: Promising Practices to Overcome Language Barriers in Policing

In February, the Vera Institute of Justice, in partnership with the COPS Office, will present a live webcast, “Bridging the Language Divide: Promising Practices for Law Enforcement.” The webcast, moderated by COPS Office, will feature police personnel from the Boise (Idaho) Police Department, the Lexington (Kentucky) Division of Police, and the Storm Lake (Iowa) Police Department. They will discuss the promising practices they’ve used to address language barriers in their jurisdictions.

The webcast will be streamed live on February 24, 2009 at 1 p.m. EST and will include a question-and-answer period during which viewers can ask questions.
