Are you a law enforcement officer? Do you participate in community activities and events? Don’t miss the opportunity to be featured in this very newsletter!

The COPS Office’s fourth annual Community Policing in Action photo contest is now open and accepting submissions. For the fourth year in a row, this contest will provide the opportunity for state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies to share creative and spirited community policing moments with the law enforcement community and the public.

Law enforcement agencies may submit one photo that accurately depicts the department’s community policing efforts. The COPS Office will select 12 winning photos to be featured monthly on its website, Twitter, and Facebook pages during the 2018 calendar year. The winners may also be featured in this newsletter, the Community Policing Dispatch, as well as in a COPS Office issued press release.

Submissions must include a completed, signed permission and release form from the agency, as well as completed, signed notice and consent forms for all recognizable individuals featured in the photo. Please see our website for important details regarding these required forms.

All photos must be submitted by 8:00 PM EDT on Friday, November 3, 2017 via email to tellcops@usdoj.gov. Please visit http://www.cops.usdoj.gov/photocontest for complete contest rules, terms and conditions, and frequently asked questions. Winners will be notified by email no later than December 29, 2017.

For questions regarding the contest, please see the Frequently Asked Questions on the COPS Office website, or contact the COPS Office Response Center at 800–421–6770 or by email at tellcops@usdoj.gov.
