The “I Love U Guys" Foundation, a nonprofit that develops programs for crisis response and post-crisis reunification, has launched the Standard Distribution Method (SDM) in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The SDM guide and supporting media are a roadmap for launching and sustaining a meal and materials distribution program during unplanned school closures. The guide provides the critical information necessary to distribute food and learning materials in a safe and orderly manner during crises, including incident command checklists and organization charts, sample maps and materials; state-specific information resources, and operation protocols.

The SDM has been tested, and subsequent plan refinements made, in the Adams 12 Five Star school district in Thornton, Colorado under the leadership of Chief Operations Officer Pat Hamilton. During the program’s pilot phase, COO Hamilton and staff distributed more than 14,000 meals on a single day. Go to YouTube to view a video on the SDM program partnership in action and learn about the pilot.

The SDM programs and other crisis response protocols are available on the ‘I Love U Guys’ foundation website and via Twitter and Facebook.
