On November 2, 2023, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) co-hosted a webinar on “Utilizing Science-Based Practices to Enhance Police Recruiting and Hiring” for COPS Office grantees. The webinar, made possible through a partnership between the COPS Office and SIOP, featured experts from SIOP who shared practices grounded in industrial-organizational (I-O) research and how they can be used to positively impact law enforcement recruitment and retention. The webinar was followed by a robust question and answer session, with the attendees demonstrating significant interest in additional information on I-O psychology.
