VIPS—Celebrating a Decade of Service

VIPS logoThis year the Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) Program will celebrate its tenth year of providing support and resources to state, local, territorial, tribal, and campus law enforcement agencies to assist in their use of volunteers. A lot of exciting plans are in the works to recognize this decade of service to the field.

In 2012, we will launch our second E-learning course, VIPS and Disaster Response, and we established a goal to register a minimum of 200 new law enforcement volunteer programs this year. Do you know of volunteer programs in neighboring communities that are not registered with us? Encourage them to register today.

The VIPS Program is grateful for the continued financial support from the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs, U.S. Department of Justice. The VIPS Program is managed by the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Keep your eyes on the VIPS website and VIPS Info newsletter for more information throughout the year.
